ADVERTISING IN THE SCHOOLS

The Rapides Parish School Board shall not permit commercial advertising in any buildings of the school district or on school grounds or properties unless specifically approved by the School Board.  In addition, schools shall not distribute advertisements, flyers, notices of events, or other promotional materials, commercial or otherwise, that are not directly connected to the school or School Board programs or activities.  However, all activities that benefit schools or children that are sponsored by non-profit organizations shall be exempt from this policy.  Commercial advertising on digital signs at individual schools is permitted if approved by the School Board, and income derived from the sale of such digital advertising be added to a specified school fund designated for digital advertising.

School Board approval is not required for advertising in student publications which are published by student organizations and/or advertising in programs or publications sponsored by PTA, booster clubs or other parent groups, or on athletic fields of the schools.

Solicitation of advertising or use of the School District to promote the merit of or sale of any product by brand name or trademark shall be permitted by the Rapides Parish School Board with specific School Board approval.
