LESSON PLANS

The Rapides Parish School Board shall require the development of lesson plans by each teacher.  Written daily lesson plans shall be submitted to the principal on a weekly basis on the approved forms provided.  Grades K-5 shall use the elementary format; grades 6-8 shall use either the elementary or secondary format; grades 9-12 shall use the secondary format; Title 1 shall use the elementary format; Special Education shall use the Special Education format.  The format on these forms shall be followed when writing the plan.

Principals are responsible for checking lesson plans weekly to assure that the plans are prepared properly.  Assistant principals may assist the principal in checking lesson plans.

The accumulated lesson plans shall be available in the classroom for review upon request of the principal or instructional supervisors.

Teaching shall be according to the written lesson plan and shall address the objective(s) for the lesson.
