STAFF MEETINGS

School faculty meetings are essential to efficient and effective school operation and often provide a mechanism for problem solving and input to the decision making process.  The number, time, place and subject matter to be communicated or discussed shall be determined by each principal.  Teacher attendance shall be required by the principal unless criteria for personnel absences is met.

No staff or faculty meeting shall be held during the regular school day unless prior approval has been received from the Superintendent or designee.

Paraprofessionals are required, as a part of their work week, to attend all in-service workshops as recommended by the supervisory staff of the Rapides Parish School Board, or the principal of the school.   If attendance at required trainings and/or workshops results in overtime, the paraprofessional will be compensated in accordance with policy GBAA, Compensatopn Guidelines/Overtime.

With the exception of central office employees, the Superintendent, and School Board members, only school administrators and staff and/or faculty members of a school shall be permitted to attend staff and/or faculty meetings unless prior approval of the Superintendent and/or principal has been obtained.
