HEALTH AND GROUP HOSPITALIZATION INSURANCE

The Rapides Parish School Board shall authorize the Superintendent to execute contracts with insurance companies, as selected by the Board, for group health and medical, surgical, and hospital benefits for its full-time employees and dependents, and qualified retired employees.  The Board shall pay all or a portion of the necessary premiums.

GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS

The Board authorizes the Accounting Department to cancel insurance coverage of any employee who has not remitted their premium payment by the tenth of the month for which the premium is due.  All employees who must pay their premiums to the Rapides Parish School Board shall be properly notified of such cancellation in writing.

For employees that are paid on less than a 12-month basis, health insurance premiums for the summer months shall be deducted from their May payroll check each year, unless coverage is cancelled prior to the last payroll check for the school year.
