PROCEDURES FOR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS ENGAGING

LEGAL COUNSEL FOR DISTRICT BUSINESS

If a School Board member(s) wants to engage legal counsel, for which the School Board will be financially obligated for fees, then the School Board member(s) shall contact the President.  The President shall then contact the Superintendent and/or his/her designee for clarification of the legal inquiry.  The President shall then contact School Board member(s) and let them know of the direction to take with regards to legal counsel.  From time to time, the President shall need to contact the School Board’s legal counsel to query legal advice for meetings and other items related to School Board business.

Any School Board member(s) may contact legal counsel if that School Board member(s) is obligated for those fees that the inquiry generates.
